Why Create Educere?
Educere was founded from a deep understanding of the emotional and professional challenges that educational leaders face. Throughout my career in schools and across local authorities, I witnessed how those in leadership roles are often expected to carry the weight of responsibility with little time or space to reflect on their own wellbeing. I saw dedicated professionals putting everyone else first, often at the expense of their own mental and emotional health.
My journey into counselling was a natural progression of my work in leadership and coaching. I wanted to offer something that went beyond professional development - a space where school leaders could truly be themselves, explore their challenges in confidence, and receive the support they so often provide to others. Educere brings together my experience in education, my training in counselling and coaching, and my belief in the transformative power of feeling heard, supported and understood.
Qualifications & Ethics
My practice is built on both lived experience and formal training. I hold a First-Class Honours degree in Psychology with Counselling and a Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling. I also hold a Diploma in Coaching, which I completed in 2009, and have been coaching education professionals ever since.
I am an Accredited Registrant with the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and adhere to their ethical code of practice. This ensures that every session is delivered with professionalism, confidentiality and care. My approach is grounded in empathy, active listening and unconditional positive regard - offering a respectful and non-judgemental space for all those I work with.
